Peperomia ferreyrae – Peperomia Happy Bean
Peperomia ferreyrae – aka the Happy Bean – is a compact cutie with long, bean-like leaves that look like green jellybeans doing yoga. It’s cheerful, sculptural, and surprisingly low-maintenance. Native to the Peruvian rainforest, this one thrives in bright spots and doesn't ask for much. Plus, it stays small, so it’s perfect for desks, shelves, and “just one more plant” moments.
Plant Care
Light:
Loves bright, indirect light. It’ll cope with some lower light, but the “beans” stretch if it’s too shady.
Watering:
Let the soil dry out between waterings. The chunky leaves hold moisture, so don’t overwater. Less is more!
Temperature:
Prefers 18–26°C, and keep above 15°C. Doesn’t love draughts or cold windowsills.
Potting:
A perfect match for our A Sandy Loam mix — airy, quick-draining, and just right for semi-succulent roots.
Hot tips:
This one loves to be left alone — avoid fussing or overwatering. Rotate occasionally for even shape, and admire those weird little beans.
