A rare hybrid with serious collector appeal. The Philodendron squamiferum × serpens combines the best traits of both parents — the sculptural, deeply lobed leaves of squamiferum and the charming fuzzy petioles (stems) of serpens. The result is a lush, exotic-looking climber with velvety red hairs running up its stems and a bold, jungle-like presence. Perfect for bright indoor spaces with something to climb.

Plant Care 

Light: Bright, indirect light encourages large, healthy leaves. Avoid harsh direct sun.

Watering: Give your plant a good soak when the top third of the soil starts to dry out.

Temperature: 18-27°C is perfect for this plant; it can dip down to 13°C for a short time but don't leave it too long.

Potting: A well-draining chunky mix with lots of organic matter is ideal for this plant. Our Airy Aroid mix is ideal.

Hot tips: Wipe the stems occasionally to keep the red fuzz looking its best. As the plant climbs, the leaves will become more lobed and dramatic.
