Bold, sculptural, and full of personality, Tillandsia funckiana ‘Crazy Love’ is a striking air plant with spiky, needle-like leaves that flush vibrant red when in bloom. Its upright, almost firework-like form makes it a standout piece whether styled solo or grouped with other tillandsias.
As an epiphytic plant, it doesn’t need soil, making it a brilliant low-fuss option for creative displays, terrariums (open only), shelves, or mounted arrangements. A favourite for plant lovers who like something a little unusual.
Plant Care
Light:
Bright, indirect light is their happy place. A little morning sun is fine too, but no harsh afternoon rays.
Watering:
Mist 2–3 times a week, or dunk in water for 20–30 minutes once a week. Shake gently to dry (they hate soggy feet). Avoid tap water and go for filtered or rain water for these cuties.
Temperature:
Keep above 10°C — they like it warm and airy.
Potting:
No soil needed! Display in open containers or on decorative holders — they’re natural minimalists.
Hot tips:
Good air circulation = happy air plant. Avoid tucking them in closed terrariums or stuffy corners. And don’t forget to name yours. It deserves it.
Pet Friendly:
