Description
Codiaeum variegatum 'Pictum', commonly known as the Croton, is a vibrant tropical houseplant celebrated for its bold, colourful foliage. Its glossy leaves are splashed with rich shades of green, yellow, orange, red and burgundy, creating a living piece of artwork that instantly brightens any room. No two plants are exactly alike, making each Croton wonderfully unique.
If you're looking for a statement plant that brings colour all year round, the Croton is hard to beat. With plenty of light, its foliage becomes even more vivid and dramatic.
Plant Care
Light: Needs bright, direct or strong indirect light to maintain its bold colours. Too little light = dull, green leaves.
Watering: Keep the soil lightly moist but not soggy. Water when the top 2–3 cm feels dry. Cut back slightly in winter.
Temperature: Thrives in 18–26°C. Hates cold—never let it drop below 15°C. Keep away from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
Potting: Our Sandy Loam mix is ideal—well-draining with enough structure to support this woody shrub.
Hot tips: Rotate regularly for even growth. Known to drop leaves when stressed (moving, drying out, low light)—give it time and good care, and it’ll bounce back.
Pet Friendly: No
