Alocasia tigrina - Tiger Alocasia - Tigrina Alocasia
Alocasia tigrina is a dramatic houseplant with long arrow-shaped leaves and striped, tiger-like stems that steal the show. This one’s got serious personality — tall, architectural, and totally tropical. It's a bold choice for collectors or anyone wanting a touch of rainforest drama in their home.
Plant Care
Light:
Loves bright, indirect light. Too much direct sun can scorch its leaves; too little, and it might sulk or drop foliage.
Watering:
Keep the soil lightly moist but not soggy. Let the top 2–3cm dry out between waterings. Avoid tap water if possible — this diva prefers filtered or rainwater.
Temperature:
Thrives in 18–26°C, and hates anything below 15°C. Keep away from draughts and cold windows.
Potting:
Loves our Airy Aroid mix — chunky, free-draining, and ideal for keeping those roots happy and rot-free.
Hot tips:
This Alocasia can go semi-dormant in winter — if it drops leaves, don’t panic. Reduce watering, keep it warm, and wait for spring. Regular pest checks are key, especially for spider mites and aphids.
