Begonia Sutherlandii
Trailing stems, zesty orange blooms, and a bit of wild charm—Begonia sutherlandii brings soft, airy colour and gentle drama. Easygoing but totally eye-catching.
Plant Care
Light: Bright indirect light is ideal. It’ll enjoy a touch of morning sun, but too much harsh light will scorch the leaves. Dappled light? Perfect.
Watering: Keep the soil lightly moist during the growing season. Let the top inch dry out between waterings. In winter, cut back as the plant goes dormant.
Temperature: Thrives in 15–24°C. Doesn’t like cold drafts or frost—bring it indoors before night temps dip below 10°C.
Potting: Our Thirst Trap mix is ideal—moisture-retentive yet well-draining, just what its tuberous roots need to thrive.
Hot tips: Goes dormant in winter—let the soil dry out and store the tubers in a cool, dry place if the foliage dies back. In spring, resume watering and watch it bounce back. Great for hanging pots, shelves, or soft outdoor summer colour.
