Hoya 'Mathilde', commonly known simply as Mathilde Hoya, is a charming trailing houseplant loved for its small, round green leaves dusted with delicate silver flecks. Light Bright indirect light is best. A little gentle morning sun can help maintain strong variegation.
Watering Allow the potting mix to dry out almost completely between waterings. The thick leaf stores water, making it tolerant of occasional neglect.
Temperature Prefers temperatures between 18–30°C and should be protected from cold draughts and frost.
Potting Plant in a free-draining mix. At Plant Studio, The Airy Aroid works well.
Hot Tips Provide a trellis or moss pole if you'd like your Hoya to climb, or allow it to trail naturally from a shelf or hanging planter. Hoyas generally flower more readily when slightly root-bound, so resist the urge to pot up too frequently. With patience and the right conditions, mature plants may produce clusters of waxy, sweetly scented flowers.
