Schefflera actinophylla – Umbrella Tree

Schefflera actinophylla, commonly known as the Umbrella Tree, is a striking tropical houseplant with glossy green leaflets that radiate like the spokes of an umbrella. Fast-growing and adaptable, it’s an excellent statement plant for bright rooms, conservatories, or offices. With the right care, it develops into a tall, tree-like feature that adds instant greenery and impact.

Plant Care
Light:
Thrives in bright, indirect light, but can tolerate lower light too. Avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch its leaves.

Watering:
Let the top half of the soil dry out between waterings. Overwatering is the main no-no — Scheffleras prefer to stay on the drier side.

Temperature:
Happy in 18–26°C. Keep above 12°C, and avoid cold draughts or sudden temperature swings.

Potting:
Our A Sandy Loam mix is ideal — free-draining with enough moisture retention for consistent, steady growth.

Hot tips:
This one loves a bit of humidity but doesn’t need it to thrive. Rotate occasionally for even growth. Prune to shape or tame any wild upward ambitions.
