Description
An unusual climbing Anthurium with deeply divided, finger-like leaves that look quite unlike the broad foliage normally associated with the genus. Its delicate palmate leaves grow along slender stems, giving the plant an airy, almost vine-like appearance.
Native to the wet tropical forests of South America, Anthurium polyschistum can be allowed to trail or given a moss pole or support to climb. A brilliant choice for collectors looking for something a little different.
Plant Care
Light: Bright, indirect light. Avoid strong direct sunlight, which can scorch the delicate leaves.
Watering: Water when the top few centimetres of soil feel dry. Keep lightly moist during active growth, but never waterlogged.
Temperature: Prefers warm conditions between 18–27°C. Keep away from cold draughts and temperatures below 15°C.
Potting: Grow in a loose, free-draining aroid mix. Our Airy Aroid mix is ace. A moss pole or climbing support will encourage more natural growth.
Hot Tips: Higher humidity will help keep the divided leaves looking their best, but good airflow is equally important. Don’t worry if it grows more like a vine than a traditional Anthurium—that’s part of its charm.
