Description

Acer (Japanese Maple) is a timeless outdoor favourite, known for its foliage and elegant, finely cut leaves. This slow-growing deciduous tree brings structure and colour throughout the seasons, with its deep tones intensifying into fiery reds in autumn. Perfect as a feature specimen in borders or grown in containers, it adds a calm, architectural feel to any garden space.

Plant Care

Position: light shade or dappled sun, in moist but well-drained soil – best protected from harsh afternoon sun and strong winds
Hardiness: fully hardy in the UK – prefers a sheltered spot to avoid leaf scorch
Hot Tips: thrives in containers or on the ground. Use an ericaceous compost if potting. Water well in dry spells, especially in summer and during its first year after planting.
