Passiflora caerulea: exotic, intricate, and totally mesmerising. This vigorous climber produces otherworldly blue-and-white flowers with a spicy scent, followed by ornamental orange fruit. A dramatic choice for fences, arches, or walls.
Plant Care
Position: full sun to part shade, in well-drained soil – best on a warm, sheltered wall or fence
Hardiness: fully hardy to half-hardy deciduous or semi-evergreen perennial climber in the UK (down to -10°C); may lose leaves in colder areas
Hot Tips: support with a trellis or wires. Prune in spring to control size and shape. Can produce edible fruit in warm summers, but mostly grown for its flowers. Loved by pollinators and great for tropical-style planting.
