Spathiphyllum ‘Sensation’ is the big, dramatic cousin of the classic peace lily. Its broad, deeply ribbed leaves have a gorgeous pleated texture and can grow properly enormous, giving it an almost tropical, jungle-floor feel without needing a sunny windowsill.
It makes a brilliant floor plant for a warm living room, hallway or office with decent natural light. Give it a little space to spread and it will reward you with a lush, full shape — and, when it’s happy, occasional white peace-lily flowers too.
Plant Care
Light: They like bright indirect light but can tolerate lower light conditions.
Watering: They like their soil moist all the time but don't overwater either. You will know when it's time for a drink as their leaves will begin to wilt, but they will perk right back up after a drink. The leaves will also curl if you overwater, so it's good to check the soil before you give it a drink. This plant is sensitive to tap water, so if possible, rainwater or filtered water is best to avoid browning tips.
Temperature: 18-25°C is ideal. Avoid cold drafts or sudden temperature changes
Potting: These plants like a well-draining, moisture-retaining mix. Our Thirst Trap mix is an excellent choice for this plant.
Hot tips: Wipe its big leaves regularly so they can make the most of available light. Brown leaf tips usually mean dry air, inconsistent watering or a build-up of minerals from tap water, rather than a need for more fertiliser.
