Description
Sedum Sieboldii ‘Mediovariegatum’ (also known as Variegated October Daphne) is a trailing succulent with dreamy blue-green leaves, creamy yellow centres, and soft pink flowers later in the season. It’s perfect for sunny windowsills, shelves, or spilling over the edge of a pot.
Light
Give it plenty of bright light or direct sun if possible. A sunny windowsill is ideal, and stronger light can bring out lovely pink tones around the leaf edges.
Watering
Like most sedums, this one prefers to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly, then let most of the soil dry before watering again. In winter, reduce watering significantly. Overwatering is much more of a risk than underwatering.
Temperature
Happy in average home temperatures and can tolerate cooler conditions too. Keep away from prolonged frost if grown in pots outdoors.
Potting
Use a super free-draining mix like our Savvy Succa blend, and always choose a pot with drainage. Terracotta works especially well for this plant as it helps excess moisture evaporate.
Hot Tips
This plant is wonderfully low maintenance and very easy to propagate from cuttings. It also looks amazing trailing from hanging pots or shallow bowls. Pink star-shaped flowers usually appear from late summer into autumn and are loved by pollinators outdoors.
Pet Friendly?
Not considered toxic to cats or dogs, though we’d still recommend keeping curious pets from making it a snack.
