Watering: These tropical gems like consistent moisture but hate sitting in soggy soil. Keep the soil evenly damp.
Temperature: Plant tree ferns in a sheltered location with part-shade, such as in a north or northeast facing position. They grow well in neutral to slightly acidic soils rich in organic matter. Avoid planting them in windy areas or where the temperature may drop below -5°C.
Potting: Use a moisture-retentive mix with good drainage—something rich in organic material like bark or peat.
Hot Tips: In winter, you can protect the crown of your tree fern with straw, horticultural fleece, or old fronds.
