Gaultheria procumbens: a festive favourite with glossy evergreen leaves, delicate summer flowers, and bright red berries that last right through winter. Compact, hardy, and cheerful, it’s perfect for pots, baskets, and seasonal displays.
Plant Care
Position: part shade to full sun in moist, acidic, well-drained soil – ideal for pots, underplanting, or woodland gardens
Hardiness: fully hardy evergreen perennial shrub in the UK (down to -20°C or lower)
Hot Tips: water with rainwater if possible to keep soil acidic. Excellent for winter containers with cyclamen, heathers, and ivy. Prune lightly in spring if needed.
