Geogenanthus Ciliatus ‘Midnight Pearl’
The Midnight Pearl is a truly show-stopping Geogenanthus, prized for its velvety, deep-purple leaves that shimmer almost black in certain lights. This low-growing tropical beauty thrives in shaded corners, making it perfect for adding a touch of drama to your indoor jungle. With its compact habit and striking foliage, it’s ideal for shelves, tabletops, or as a statement under larger plants.
Light: Bright, indirect light is best. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch its delicate leaves. Can tolerate lower light, though growth will slow.
Watering: Keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy. Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feel dry. Prefers filtered water or rainwater if possible. These get really fussy when allowed to dry out too much.
Temperature: Loves a warm, stable environment — ideally 18–26°C. Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
Potting: Pot in our Sandy Loam Mix which holds moisture while draining well. Repot every 1–2 years in spring when roots start to fill the pot.
Hot Tips: This plant thrives in higher humidity — group with other tropicals or place near a humidifier for best results. Leaves may naturally curl at the edges if too dry.
Pet Safety: Pet friendly — safe for curious cats and dogs.
