Organic Pea Seeds ‘Rondo’ (Pisum sativum) by River Cottage are a reliable, early-cropping garden variety known for their sweet flavour and excellent yields. Producing plump, tender peas in compact pods, this variety is ideal for UK growing conditions and perfect for kitchen gardens, raised beds, or larger containers. Plant Care
Position: Full sun in fertile, well-drained soil

Hardiness: Hardy annual in the UK – tolerant of cooler temperatures and suitable for early sowing

Watering: Keep soil evenly moist, especially during flowering and pod development, to ensure a good crop

Sowing: Sow directly outdoors from March to June. Sow seeds in rows or containers and cover with soil. Provide support such as netting or canes as plants grow

Harvesting: Pick pods from June onwards when they are well-filled but still tender. Regular harvesting encourages continued production

Hot Tips: Sow in succession every few weeks for a continuous harvest. Support plants early to keep them upright and make harvesting easier. Freshly picked peas are incredibly sweet—perfect for eating straight from the pod or adding to dishes.
