You will receive a similar plant to the one photographed and not necessarily the same. If you would like a photo of the exact plant we are sending, just drop us a line! Pots and plants are sold separately unless otherwise specified in the listing.
A sweet little trailing peperomia with tiny, round green leaves held along fine stems. It has a soft, slightly wild look as it spills over the edge of a shelf or hanging pot, but stays compact enough for smaller spaces.
It suits a bright spot out of harsh direct sun and is a lovely choice for a bookcase, desk or hanging planter. Its small leaves make it particularly prone to overwatering, so it’s happiest in a free-draining mix and allowed to dry a little between drinks.
Plant Care
Light Prefers bright indirect light but will also grow well in medium light conditions. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which can scorch the delicate leaves and cause them to lose their vibrant colour.
Watering Allow the top half of the soil to dry before watering. Like many Peperomias, its succulent leaves store moisture, making it more tolerant of occasional underwatering than overwatering. Always ensure excess water drains away freely.
Temperature Thrives in typical indoor temperatures between 18–24°C. Keep away from cold draughts and avoid temperatures below 15°C for best growth.
Potting Grow in a light, well-draining potting mix with added perlite or fine orchid bark to improve airflow around the roots. A pot with drainage holes is essential to help prevent root rot.
Pet Safe Yes
Hot Tips Peperomia asperula enjoys moderate humidity but adapts well to average household conditions. Its trailing stems can be lightly trimmed to encourage fuller growth, and healthy stem cuttings are easy to propagate in water or directly into soil. This species is also considered non-toxic, making it a great choice for homes with curious pets.
