Calathea ‘Medallion’ is a true show-stopper, loved for its large, round leaves patterned in deep green and silver with rich purple undersides. Part of the Prayer Plant family, its leaves gently move throughout the day, adding a sense of life and rhythm to your space. Lush and decorative, this plant is perfect for bringing texture and colour to shelves, sideboards, and brighter rooms without direct sun.
Plant Care
Light:They like bright indirect light but can tolerate lower light conditions.
Watering: They like their soil moist all the time but don't overwater either. You will know when it's time for a drink as their leaves will begin to curl. The leaves will also curl if you overwater, so it's good to check the soil before you give it a drink. This plant will not do well with tap water, so if possible, rainwater or filtered water is only for these drama queens.
Temperature:18-25°C is ideal. Avoid cold drafts or sudden temperature changes
Potting: These plants like a well-draining moisture retaining mix. OurThirst Trapmix is an excellent choice for this plant.
Hot tips:Humidity is key for these plants, but misting can cause issues with their delicate leaves as they aren't keen on having water sit on them for too long. Best to use a pebble tray or place them amongst lots of plant friends.
