Dracaena warneckei is a bold, upright houseplant with long, sword-like leaves striped in green and silver-white. It brings an instant vertical pop to any room without taking up much space – perfect for corners, offices, or anywhere that needs a touch of low-maintenance greenery. Known for its air-purifying powers and chill attitude, this one’s a favourite for beginners and busy plant parents alike.
Plant Care Light: Loves bright, indirect light, but copes well in low light too. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch those lovely striped leaves.
Watering: Let the top half of the soil dry out between waterings. This plant is drought-tolerant and prefers underwatering over soggy roots.
Temperature: Thrives in 18–26°C, and should be kept above 15°C. Keep away from cold draughts and radiators.
Potting: Our A Sandy Loam mix is ideal — airy and well-draining to prevent root rot.
Hot tips: Wipe the leaves occasionally to remove dust and keep them shiny. If the tips brown, it’s likely from tap water — switch to rainwater or filtered water if you can. Prune tall stalks to encourage bushier growth.
