Tropical looks, British grit. Eucomis bicolor brings bold late-summer drama with freckled flower spikes topped by a wild leafy crown—like a pineapple wearing a party hat. The pale green blooms are edged with purple and loved by bees, with seed heads that stay showy well into autumn.

Bright, architectural, and weirdly wonderful, it's perfect for pots, gravel gardens, or adding exotic flair to sunny borders.

Plant Care

Position: full sun in a warm, sheltered spot – thrives in free-draining soil or large pots

Hardiness: tender perennial – hardy to around 0°C in well-drained soil, but mulch well or lift and store in colder areas

Hot Tips: water well through summer, then ease off in autumn. Flowers best when slightly rootbound. For extra wow, plant in terracotta and pair with silvery foliage or grasses. Bee magnet and totally garden-worthy.
