Cute, compact, and surprisingly low-maintenance—Pellaea rotundifolia, or Button Fern, has tidy rows of glossy, rounded leaflets on arching fronds. Native to New Zealand, it’s one of the more forgiving ferns, making it a lovely choice for bathrooms, bookshelves, or bright-but-shady corners.
Plant Care
Light:Bright indirect light, too much sun, and you risk scorching the leaves.
Watering: They prefer to be moist at all times, but be careful not to overwater, or you risk root rot.
Temperature:Thrives in 16–24°C. Keep away from cold draughts and protect from temperatures below 10°C.
Potting: A well-draining and moisture-retaining mix for these plants. Our Thirst Trap mix is a good match.
Hot tips:This plant likes humidity! A bright bathroom is a perfect place for this lovely fern.
