Make a statement with Strelitzia nicolai, also known as the Giant White Bird of Paradise. With its towering stems and large, glossy banana-like leaves, it’s the perfect pick for corners in need of height, light, and lushness. Indoors, it rarely flowers—but its sheer presence makes up for it.
Plant Care
Light: Thrives in bright, direct or indirect light. The more sun, the better—this is not a plant for low-light rooms. A south or west-facing window is ideal.
Watering: Water when the top inch of soil is dry, this plant is a thirsty one, but be sure not to leave water sitting to avoid root rot.
Temperature: 18-27°C is ideal, but it can tolerate as low as
10°C
Potting: You don't need to repot this plant too often as it prefers to be a bit root bound. Our Airy Aroid mix is a great choice for this plant.
Hot tips: Rotate regularly for even growth and dust leaves to keep them glossy. Loves a bright conservatory or sunny room. Feed monthly in spring and summer to support growth.
Pet Friendly: NOPE, it's mildly toxic to those furry friends.
