Anoectochilus chapaensis– Jewel Orchid
Anoectochilus chapaensis is a rare jewel orchid grown more for its incredible foliage than its flowers. Its velvety deep green leaves are patterned with shimmering metallic veins that almost glow under the light, making it a standout choice for terrariums and high-humidity plant collections.
Plant Care
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light or dappled shade—think rainforest floor vibes. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch those precious leaves.
Watering: Keep the soil lightly moist at all times, but never soggy. Let the top layer dry very slightly before watering again. Rainwater or filtered water is ideal.
Temperature: Thrives in 18–26°C. Avoid temperature swings or cold draughts. It loves a cosy, stable spot.
Potting: Our Thirst Trap mix is ideal—moisture-retentive but airy enough to prevent root rot.
Hot tips: Loves humidity—aim for 60–80%. This is a prime candidate for a terrarium or display case, but also does well in bathrooms or grouped with other humidity-loving plants. Don’t repot too often—Jewel Orchids prefer to be slightly snug.
