Quirky, sculptural, and full of character—the Beaucarnea recurvata, better known as the Ponytail Palm, is a slow-growing houseplant that doubles as living art. Despite its palm-like look, it’s actually a succulent, storing water in its swollen base (caudex). Its long, arching leaves spill out like a fountain, making it a statement plant for any bright spot in your home.
Plant Care
Light:Bright indirect light. Avoid shade at all costs. Try to provide at least a few hours of sun daily. Think directly in a North, East or West window, and a few meters away from a south-facing window.
Watering:Water sparingly, letting the soil dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering is the quickest way to cause issues with this beauty.
Temperature:10-27°C is the range this plant. Be careful to avoid temperature fluctuations as this plant is sensitive to changes.
Potting:A well-draining mix is ideal; our a sandy loam would be a good choice for this plant
Hot tips: This plant will grow best in a warm room.
