You will receive a similar plant to the one photographed and not necessarily the same. If you would like a photo of the exact plant we are sending, just drop us a line! Pots and plants are sold separately unless otherwise specified in the listing.
A much-loved flowering plant, Brassia or spider orchids are a great easy-care plant to add some colour to your space.
Plant Care
Light:Likes bright indirect light. An east or west-facing window is ideal.
Watering: The key to understanding watering needs is to observe the roots. Silvery white means it needs water, and green means it is saturated. You can water your orchid by soaking it for about 10 minutes or running water over the plant for about 15 seconds. With either method, ensure the water has completely drained from the pot before placing it back in its container. Generally, you are looking at watering about every ten days or so in winter and more frequently when temperatures warm up.
Temperature:18-24°C These plants prefer things on the warmer side, but don't let them get below 16°C
Potting: These plants need a chunky and well-aired mix; normal houseplant soil will not work. Our Super Chonkmix does the trick.
Hot tips:Once the plant has finished flowering, cut back the stem just above a node (the small bump or knuckle on the stem). This will encourage the orchid to bloom again.
Pet Friendly: YES
Note: these are not guaranteed to be in bloom, please check with us before ordering if you require the plant to be in bloom.
