Calathea ornata ‘Sanderiana’, commonly called the Pinstripe Plant, is a true showstopper with its glossy, dark green leaves painted with delicate pink stripes that look hand-drawn. As part of the prayer plant family, its leaves move throughout the day, rising and folding with the light. Perfect for adding drama to any space, this Calathea brings a bold, tropical vibe while staying compact enough for shelves, desks, or side tables.
Plant Care
Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light but will tolerate lower light. Avoid direct sun, which can fade its striping. Watering: Keep soil evenly moist but not soggy. Let the top 2–3cm of soil dry before watering. Sensitive to tap water — use filtered, rain, or distilled. Temperature: Happy in 18–26°C, avoid drops below 15°C and protect from drafts. Potting: Prefers Thirst Trap mix for moisture retention with good drainage. Hot tips: Loves humidity — a pebble tray or humid room is ideal (but no misting here at Plant Studio!). Rotate regularly for balanced growth.
