Description Hoya kerrii Variegata, commonly known as the Variegated Sweetheart Plant, is a charming houseplant grown for its thick, heart-shaped leaf marked with beautiful cream, yellow, and green variegation. Often gifted as a symbol of love, friendship, or good luck, this adorable plant makes a unique addition to desks, shelves, and windowsills. Easy to care for and slow-growing, it is perfect for beginners and collectors alike.
Plant Care
Light Bright indirect light is best. A little gentle morning sun can help maintain strong variegation.
Watering Allow the potting mix to dry out almost completely between waterings. The thick leaf stores water, making it tolerant of occasional neglect.
Temperature Prefers temperatures between 18–30°C and should be protected from cold draughts and frost.
Potting Plant in a free-draining mix. At Plant Studio, The Airy Aroid works well.
Hot Tips This is a single-leaf cutting grown from Hoya kerrii. While it can live happily for many years with proper care, single-leaf plants do not always contain the stem tissue needed to produce new vines or additional leaves.
Pet Friendly Yes. Hoya kerrii is generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs.
