Musa ‘Nono’ Variegata is a rare and striking banana plant with broad tropical leaves splashed with soft pink variegation. Each leaf unfurls with its own unique patterning, blending shades of green, cream, and blush-pink for a look that feels bold, playful, and properly special.
More compact than many banana varieties, ‘Nono’ stays relatively manageable indoors while still delivering serious statement energy. Fast-growing in the right conditions, this plant is a favourite for collectors and anyone wanting a tropical focal point with a twist.
Pink variegation is most vibrant in bright light, making this a rewarding plant to watch as it grows and develops new leaves.
Plant Care
Light: Loves bright light—ideally full sun or very bright indirect light. Great by a sunny window or on a summer patio.
Watering: Keep soil consistently moist but never soggy. Let the top 2–3 cm dry out between waterings, and water more often during active growth.
Temperature:Don't let these beauties freeze, or they will whither away! They will tolerate some cold but will stop growing. So if you are growing yours outside, then be sure to overwinter it before the first frost. Don't let your plant grow below 10 °C
Potting: Our A Sandy Loam mix is ideal—well-draining, nutrient-rich, and moisture-retentive without becoming compacted.
Hot tips:These are hungry plants, so give them fertiliser during the growing season. They love humidity, and yes, if this does become happy enough to produce fruit. It's edible!
