This cheerful orchid produces long, branching sprays of golden flowers that last for weeks, filling your home with colour and delicate movement. Easier to grow than many orchids, Oncidium enjoys bright light, good airflow, and a steady routine — perfect for windowsills, desks, and anyone who wants a showy, elegant indoor plant that rewards you year after year.
Plant Care Light: Loves bright indirect light—think dappled sun or a spot near an east or filtered south-facing window. More light = more flowers, but keep it out of harsh direct rays.
Watering: Water when the potting mix is nearly dry but not bone dry. These orchids like to breathe, so let them dry a bit between sips. Mist in between if the air is dry.
Temperature: Warm and steady wins the race—ideally 16–24°C. Protect from cold draughts and sudden changes.
Potting: Orchids need airflow around their roots. Our Airy Aroid mix works beautifully if you’re potting it in a breathable container with good drainage. You can also mix in some extra bark for orchid flair.
Hot tips: After flowering, trim the spent spike back to encourage new growth. Loves a little orchid feed in spring/summer while actively growing. Keep humidity up around 50–60% if you can—she’s tropical like that.
