Oxalis Triangularis - False Shamrock
A total showstopper, the False Shamrock is all about drama and movement. Its deep purple, triangular leaves open wide during the day and fold up at night, giving it a magical, almost butterfly-like quality. In the right light, it even sends up clusters of delicate pale pink blooms. Easy-care, compact, and full of character — this one’s a favourite for brightening shelves and windowsills.
Plant Care
Light: This plant will want bright light, but direct blaring sun or too much heat can make it a bit wilty.
Watering: These are thirsty plants, preferring to have their soil consistently moist, beware not to overwater.
Temperature: 15-27˚C is perfect for these plants. This Oxails is not frost-hardy like its cousin, the Iron Cross but it can tolerate going as low as 5C.
Potting: A well-draining moisture retaining mix will do the trick for this plant; our Thrist Trap mix should help this thirsty plant stay hydrated.
Hot tips: I've known this plant to be a bit dramatic. It will wilt if it gets too hot or thirsty, but fret not; if you give it what it wants, it will perk right back up!
