Senecio herreianus ‘Purple Flush’ is an unusual trailing succulent with plump bead-like foliage that develops deep purple tones in bright light. Often compared to String of Bananas or String of Pearls, this fast-growing trailing plant adds dramatic colour and texture to shelves and hanging planters. The purple stems and flushed foliage intensify with sun exposure, making it a standout addition to succulent collections.
Plant Care Light: Loves bright, indirect light and can tolerate some direct sun. The more sun it gets, the stronger the purple flush becomes.
Watering: Let the soil dry out completely between waterings. Like most succulents, it prefers drought over sogginess—overwatering is the fastest way to lose it.
Temperature: Happy in 18–28°C. Keep above 10°C and avoid cold draughts.
Potting: Our Savvy Succa mix is ideal—free-draining and gritty to keep roots dry and happy. Terracotta pots are a great match.
Hot tips: Can be pruned or propagated easily—snip off a vine and root it in soil or water. Rotate occasionally for even growth.
