Variegated Ceropegia woodii, commonly known as String of Hearts, is a much-loved trailing houseplant with delicate heart-shaped leaves marbled in soft greens, silvers, and blush pink tones. Its cascading vines make it perfect for shelves, hanging pots, or trailing over the edge of planters, adding a light, romantic feel to indoor spaces. Easy-going and forgiving, this plant is ideal for both beginners and collectors looking for something elegant but low effort.
Plant Care
Light: Bright light, but try to keep it out of the direct sun or it will scorch. My rule with this plant is to place it where it has a view of the sky.
Watering: This plant prefers deep watering but less often. So when the soil feels dry give it a good soak when the top inch of soil is dry (but make sure not to let it sit in standing water).
Temperature: 15-29°C is ideal for these strings of things, but make sure not to let it dip below 10°C for too long or you may start losing the lovely little hearts.
Potting: Drainage is key here, so a succulent mix is a good choice for this. Our Savvy Succa is a great fit for this plant.
Hot tips: With proper care, your string of hearts can grow up to several feet long!
