Zamioculcas zamiifolia – ZZ Plant is one of the toughest, most reliable houseplants you can own. With its glossy, deep green leaflets on upright stems, it adds a sleek, architectural look to any space. Known for tolerating low light and drought, the ZZ Plant is almost indestructible — perfect for beginners, busy plant parents, or office spaces.
Plant Care
Light: Bright indirect light is best, but it will tolerate low light, just won't grow as fast.
Watering: This drought-tolerant plant is perfect for travellers or forgetful plant parents. Water when the top inch of the soil is dry to the touch. We water ours about once a month, sitting in a low-light position.
Temperature: Ideally, they want to be 18-24°C, but will tolerate as low as 7°C and high as 35°C!
Potting: A tolerant plant, it will do well with most mixes if it is not too moist. Our Savvy Succa mix is a good choice for this plant.
Hot tips: This plant likes to grow in spurts, so if it's not doing much, wait until spring or summer and watch it sprout! If you are eager to have a big ZZ, ensure it gets plenty of (indirect) light.
Pet Friendly: NOPE, but our cat is not interested in playing with this due to its size and shape.
